Shingles… no not the type you have on your roof. The type that your parents or grandparents have maybe talked about and if I were to believe the commercials I see on TV only effect ‘older’ people (like this)

This week I became part of the statistic of 1 in 3 people will get shingles at some point in their life. Unfortunately for me this came at 28 years old. Luckily for me however it hasn’t been the ‘worse case’ I’ve ever seen but never the less time off work and more relevant to this blog, time away from the Gym. 

It’s been almost a week since I was able to get to the gym and this is something I have not done since starting late January.

Simply put – it sucks. 

Now I know it is not the end of the world if I take a week off and i’m sure many people have done it before but it just kills the momentum I have been working on over the last few weeks. I have been keeping up with my macros even though i’m not really burning much which has me somewhat afraid to step on the scale (have not done it in 3 days).

At this point I’ve realized I won’t be getting back until at least Monday so my thought is I’m going to take it as a ‘fresh start’. Hopefully I won’t see too much of a drop off in the weights I can handle but I’ll be going back refreshed and ready to get back on the right track.
